Carla has been a heliconia enthusiast for six years: begging, buying, and hunting heliconias near home in Panama and neighboring Costa Rica. Tracking down rare Heliconia bella in the wild a year ago inspired her and her husband to put a finer point on their hobby: to find and document all of Panama's native species in the wild, and to grow them at home. Their adventure is just beginning!
